Nanjing is my hometown. Located in the eastern part of China, Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu Province which is developed in the economy in China and an important central city on the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River. It is a modern and busy city. It is one of the cities with the longest history in China. And with the development of the economy, it has changed a lot in the past few years.

In my daily life, I realized that the traffic in Nanjing has got a huge change.

For one thing, people take tramcars to go out in the past. It has a cable and only operates in a fixed orbit. For another, when the underground appeared, the transportation in Nanjing changed a lot. Now, many people choose to take underground because of its convenience. What’s more, taking a taxi become very popular. It has an app on the cell phone, some people use it to call a taxi.

It may be much cheaper. However, the traffic problem is serious in Nanjing. In the past, our city did not have many cars. But traffic jams are very common every day. So the transportation changes a lot.

Otherwise, the building is different from the past. In the past, the tallest building in Nanjing is Jinling Hotel. It has 37 floors. At that moment, Jinling Hotel is the symbol of Nanjing. But now, the tallest building is Zifeng. It has 78 floors. Different from the past, you can see tall buildings everywhere in Nanjing.

In contrast, the environment in recent years has a far cry from the past. In the 1980s and before, Nanjing is full of trees, flowers, and fresh air. But when the economy developing fast, people ignored the importance of plants and fresh air. Plants reduced and the air got worse. Similar to the beginning, people realize the importance of protecting the environment now. They take all actions to grow plants and reduce pollution. The environment is getting better now.

Nanjing is clocked by hills and rivers. With the development of the economy, Nanjing changed a lot and become more booming. People are living in a rich and high-quality society, almost every person has a car, the transportation is convenient, meanwhile, more and more high buildings are being built which brings our hometown a new look. Many wonderful places have been opened up that attract many tourists. These changes give conveniences to people and make people fit the city better. Thus, for me, there is no place like my hometown.
